The Thessaloniki Tourism Organisation announces that the city of Thessaloniki
has been officially nominated for the title “Most Desirable City in Europe” in this year’s
Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2025, which will take place on 5
November 2025, at the National Gallery in London.

This is actually big news for the city, as it involves one of the most prestigious tourism
institutions in the UK, with more than 200,000 voters from around the world taking part in nominating the top destinations internationally.

Thessaloniki is among the top nominated cities in Europe, which further enhances its tourism potential and international visibility.
Wanderlust magazine, the longest running and most widely circulated travel publication in the UK, rewards destinations that promote authentic, sustainable and culturally rich tourism – characteristics that
also make up the identity of Thessaloniki.

Voting is now open and runs until 17 October 2025.
