Exactly a decade ago, in September 2016, a colorful new project made its quiet debut at the historic Mylos Cultural Complex in western Thessaloniki. The concept was simple yet ambitious for the city back then: to bring together independent creators, vintage collectors, record traders, and local producers under a single, open-air marketplace.
Fast forward to September 18–20, 2026, and the Flea Market Thessaloniki is celebrating its 10-year anniversary. Having moved its home over seven years ago to the heart of the city—at the TIF-HELEXPO grounds right under the iconic YMCA (HANTH) Arch—it has transformed from a alternative weekend gathering into one of Thessaloniki’s most beloved culture-and-lifestyle institutions.
The Evolution: From Vintage Stalls to Urban Festival
What started purely as a second-hand and craft market has evolved into a full-scale open-air festival:
The Finds: A mix of rare vinyl records, retro home decor, handmade jewelry, zero-waste crafts, and upcycled clothing.
The Food & Drink Vibe: Street food has always been a core pillar. This year’s anniversary edition pairs classic DJ sets (funk, soul, and hip hop) with local street food staples like Tarantino burgers, authentic Neapolitan slices from Pizza Hood, and craft beers/cocktails from Lykiskos.
The Philosophy: Above all, the Flea Market helped mainstream the culture of circular economy, reuse, and supporting independent makers in Thessaloniki.
Happy 10th Birthday to the team—here’s to many more years of hidden treasures and autumn weekend strolls!
