I have to be honest with you: for years, I always admired Reworks from a distance, but I never actually went. Somehow, in my mind, I felt like the festival phase had just passed me by, that it was meant for a younger, all-night-rave crowd and that I had simply “outgrown” it.
This September 2023, however, all my excuses are officially out the window. Even if I end up going completely by myself, I am not missing it.
The Catalyst: Stereo Nova Live
The reason for this sudden change of heart? The legendary Stereo Nova are headlining Reworks 2023.
For anyone who grew up in Greece or feels connected to its urban soundtrack, Stereo Nova (K.Bhta and Mikael Delta) are pure poetry. In the 90s, they gave a voice to city dwellers, blending ambient electronic beats with raw, spoken-word poetry about love, urban solitude, identity, and inner truth. Their music taught an entire generation how to look at grey apartment buildings and still find magic.
