Why oh why did I not discover this sooner? You know how sometimes you just ignore things or places that are right in front of your nose? This is exactly what happened to me and Akadimia restaurant.
It is located in one of the most beautiful streets of the city—Agiou Mina. In the spring and summer, the bitter orange trees smell absolutely incredible everywhere around. I always knew that at the back side of the restaurant there was a small yard, and I was planning to visit it at some point. Well, the time was just right when a friend was visiting from out of town and we wanted to go somewhere truly special that none of us had been to before.
Akadimia turned out to be a fantastic experience overall, combining exquisite food with a very friendly yet impeccable service. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a relaxed, high-quality dinner in a beautiful setting.
Local Tip: If you visit during the warmer months, definitely ask for a table in their hidden back courtyard. Sitting outside under the open sky, surrounded by the scent of the city’s bitter orange trees, makes the dining experience feel even more magical and secluded.
Where to find it: Agiou Mina 3, Thessaloniki
